For the first time in the US, the Washington Senate passed a resolution commemorating the victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933, which speaks of genocide against Ukrainians.

This is reported in his Facebook Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.

"The Holodomor was a genocide, organized by Joseph Stalin and the Soviet regime against the people of Ukraine," the resolution said, supported unanimously.

The author of the resolution is Republican Senator Mark Miloshchia.

Recall that in Ukraine the Holodomor of 1932-1933 is considered a genocide of the Ukrainian people organized by the leadership of the CPSU (b) and the government of the USSR in 1932-1933 by creating an artificial mass famine that resulted in millions of human losses in rural areas in the Ukrainian SSR and Kuban, The overwhelming majority of the population were Ukrainians.

The Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-1933 officially recognized as genocide of the Ukrainian people such countries:

Australia, Georgia, Ecuador, Estonia, Canada, Colombia, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Hungary and Portugal. Some states condemned the Holodomor as an act of destroying humanity in official addresses. These are Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, Vatican, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, USA, Czech Republic, Chile.

As reported by the "Observer", in March 2017 another EU country recognized the Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainians.
