Ukraine discusses with the US leadership the possibility of involving Washington in the Norman format of negotiations on the settlement of the situation in the Donbass. For Russia, such a scenario is extremely negative.

This opinion was expressed by ex-Foreign Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Ohryzko in an interview with Online. Ua.

The diplomat noted that the United States is already involved in the negotiation process "fairly tightly".

"Let me remind you that Ms. Victoria Nuland (Assistant Secretary of State for Eurasia and Europe - Ed.. ) In certain periods there was more time in Ukraine than in the USA, traveling between Kiev and Washington. Therefore, to say that they are not involved - you can not. Another question is how formalized is this attraction. While it is not formalized, "- he said.

In the opinion of Ogryzko, Russia's insolence at the tight involvement of the US in the negotiations would have gone down.

"If the West were formally strengthened by such a player as the US, and the relevant leaders participated in the discussions on an ongoing basis, it would be difficult for the Kremlin to boldly and boldly lie and distort facts," he explained..

At the same time, the ex-Foreign Minister notes, the Russians do not want to involve the US in the negotiations.

"Why?

Because this is an increase per opponent. Of course, if France and Germany act as opponents of the Kremlin, and here another one is added, their efforts together will be strengthened, "he explained..

As reported by the "Observer", the director of the Institute for Political Analysis and International Studies, Sergei Tolstov, explained that the United States is preventing the US from joining the "Norman format".
