The US nuclear submarine on Tuesday, April 25, entered the South Korean port of Busan. Its approach with artillery salvos was noted on the other side of the peninsula: North Korea held military exercises in the port of Wonsan. Celebrating the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Army has acquired special meaning.

Pyongyang conducted large-scale artillery exercises in the port city of Wonsan on the eastern coast of the peninsula. The event involved more than 300 long-range guns. According to the Yonhap agency, the leader of the North Korean nation Kim Jong Eun personally watched firing.

Officially, the exercises were timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Korean People's Army and aimed at publicly demonstrating the capabilities of the DPRK armed forces. Usually Pyongyang marks such dates with a military parade, but this time it changed traditions. First, the parade was held recently - April 15, on the 105th birthday of Kim Il Sung. Secondly, to conduct field exercises for the leadership of the North Korean republic is now politically more correct.

Two weeks ago, the US command reported that it had sent a squadron to the shores of the Korean peninsula led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Carl Vinson. He took part in American-Japanese exercises, but now he has received a new assignment. Together with an aircraft carrier to the shores of South Korea are moving rocket destroyers Michael Murphy and Wayne E. Meyer, equipped with the Aegis system, as well as the rocket cruiser Lake Champlain.

The squadron should approach the Korean Peninsula this week. But already today the South Korean port of Busan reached the submarine "Michigan". According to BBC News, on board the submarine can be 24 ballistic missiles Trident II with nuclear warheads or 154 cruise missiles Tomahawk.

So, the DPRK did not just fire:

with powerful artillery salvos in the port, they met the atomic submarine approaching the shores, clearly showing their readiness for any development of events.

Meanwhile, according to Japanese media, the sea around the Korean peninsula is now teeming with submarines. In addition to the United States, Japan, Russia and China sent their submarines to the region. In addition, North and South Korea have their own submarine fleet. In total, the Korean coast now has about 50 submarines of different countries.
