The Committee of Permanent Representatives of the European Union, also called the Council of EU Ambassadors, will consider granting Ukraine a visa-free regime on April 26. The issue of visa liberalization has already been put on the agenda, according to the website of the EU Council.

Earlier it was reported that the EU Council would finally approve the visa liberalization of the European Union with Ukraine at the meeting on May 11. Thus, the visa-free regime will come into force in June 2017.

Recall that on March 9 the European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Internal Affairs voted for the draft resolution on introducing Ukraine into the list of countries that are granted a visa-free regime. 39 members of the committee voted for the decision, four voted against.

Earlier, the EU Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission conducted a successful tri-log concerning the provision of a visa-free regime for Ukraine, having reached a preliminary agreement on visa liberalization for Ukrainians.
