The Cabinet of Ministers decided to simplify technical control for international carriers.

Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Alexey Kuleba announced this on Telegram..

“We are talking about transportation for trucks under permits of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) - these are multilateral permits that make it possible to transport goods between more than 40 countries. Ukraine is one of the most active in their use,” the minister noted..

He added that previously carriers underwent two separate inspections, and after the decision initiated by the Ministry of Development, there remains only one technical inspection procedure, which simultaneously confirms compliance with both Ukrainian and international requirements.

" In recent years, the business has spent about UAH 300 million on duplicate procedures. Let's remove this burden. Additionally, we are opening the technical control market. All accredited entities will be able to issue certificates, and not just one state enterprise. This is competition, lower cost of services and better quality,” Kuleba noted..

The minister added that they are introducing European approaches to technical control:.

unified classification of deficiencies;

clear rules for operating vehicles;

full integration of data into the government system.

" More than 21,000 trucks applied for the latest ECMT permit distribution – for them this decision means a real simplification of work. This is another step towards integration with the EU and the transition to European rules in the transport sector,” Kuleba wrote.
