The holiday season in 2022 will not open in three of the four regions of southern Ukraine due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian army and the occupation of part of the territories.

Thus, according to the head of the tourism department of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Military District Yevgeny Kovalenko, the decision to cancel the holiday season in the region will be valid until the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.

" This can only be done after the victory,"

This decision will affect not only potential tourists. Residents of the coastal territories, which are now occupied, are also urged to refrain from relaxing near the sea, as it is life-threatening..

As for business owners, they are urged to fix losses.

“We recommend that the owners of the bases fix the losses caused to you, including the lost profit, in order to later recover these funds from the terrorist state,” said Yevgeny Kovalenko.

The authorities of the Odessa region also warn that citizens will most likely have to give up swimming in the sea this year, due to the fact that the coast was mined to prevent the landing of a Russian military landing, as well as mines floating in the sea itself.

As the speaker of the operational headquarters of the Odessa Regional Military Administration Sergey Bratchuk noted on the air of the national telethon, it will take a long time to clear the beaches.

" There will be victory - work will be carried out to clear the Black Sea and beaches. Then we will rest,"

At the same time, in the Nikolaev region, they decided not to refuse to hold the holiday season.

The head of the Nikolaev regional military administration, Vitaly Kim, recently announced that the Nikolaev region is going to open the holiday season, despite the martial law, which was just extended for another 90 days.

“We will definitely open the holiday season, as it is very important for our region. We have many bases and recreation points in the region, which are in much safer places than Nikolaev. There are many bases with swimming pools that should also work,” said Vitaly Kim.

The governor is sure: there will be 40% fewer tourists than last year.

And he promised to help the tourist industry, to use additional security measures..

“But there will be a holiday season in one form or another,” said Vitaly Kim.

As for the Kherson region, it is currently either under occupation or in a zone of active hostilities.

In the first days of June, three residents of the temporarily occupied Lazurne, Kherson region, died when a mine exploded by Russian troops on the beach. This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
