"Naftogaz" may not have enough funds to buy fuel from "Gazprom". According to the head of the Ukrainian state-owned company Andrei Kobolev, the biggest problem of Naftogaz in 2018. will consist in the loss of cheap loans from the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). International organizations promised $ 800 million, but they suspended the tranches because of the government's failure to comply with the Nezalezhny series of conditions. Last year, the company lived well without these loans, because due to the increase in tariffs for gas, heat and hot water for the population, gas supplies inside the country were profitable, said expert of the National Energy Security Fund Igor Yushkov. However, now the country is in a pre-default state, so no one will sell anything to Naftogaz. Nevertheless, Gazprom will have to pay in any case - this is the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration. "If they do not buy gas or give $ 2 billion, which, incidentally, are being dribbled with a fine of more than $ 300,000 a day, then Gazprom will be able to file a lawsuit with European courts. So did the Italians before the New Year and took the property of Naftogaz in Europe in the form of reverse gas, "- leads" Prime "words Yushkov.

However, it is worth noting that the decision of arbitration judges only applies to the current contract between Gazprom and Naftogaz, which expires in 2019. For this period, the Ukrainian company can have enough and revenues from gas transit to cover accounts. The farther perspective is extremely hazy. First, it is not known whether in a couple of years Kiev will take a political decision to buy Russian gas without intermediaries. "Gazprom" does not care who to cooperate with, if only they pay money. To Ukrainians, the same contract with Moscow will be cheaper financially, but it will hit the authority of the authorities, who at one time and severed relations. Secondly, Russia is on the "Turkish flow" approach with gas supplies to at least Turkey, and as a maximum - on a special branch - to Europe, as well as "Nord Stream-2". Thus, after 2019 g. "Gazprom" will be able to completely abandon the Ukrainian gas transportation system.

Accordingly, Ukraine will lose transit revenues, and it will simply not be able to buy gas. The word "Naftogaz" is not believed even in Europe. Last year, the company wanted to buy new compressors for the GTS, but they were refused by Siemens just because of financial insolvency, and General Electric was delayed with an answer. At the same time, Germany is promoting Nord Stream-2 with all its might, since they also understand how unreliable Ukraine is as a fuel transporter.
