Law No. 5722-d "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine" On Ensuring Commercial Accounting for Natural Gas "on the procedure for installing meters for natural gas consumers" was supported by 325 People's Deputies.

Thus, the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring the commercial accounting of natural gas" adds a provision according to which to ensure the commercial accounting of natural gas for the population, business entities that perform the distribution of natural gas in the relevant territory equip the population (household consumers) with individual gas meters.

At the same time, a house gas meter can be installed only with the consent of co-owners of an apartment building.

The procedure and amount of compensation for the costs of acquiring and installing gas meters for consumers is established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the document says..

In addition, the law provides that in the event that the co-owners of an apartment building fail to consent to the installation of a house-count gas meter to economic entities that distribute natural gas in the relevant territory, the cessation of the distribution of natural gas to such consumers is prohibited.

The law also establishes that business entities that carry out the distribution of natural gas in the relevant territory are required to ensure the establishment of individual gas meters, rather than general house.
