Only this year the indicator of the sale of livestock decreased by five percent. Significant reduction is observed in Zaporozhye, Poltava and Kharkov regions. In just 11 months of 2017, the total number of pigs fell by six and a half million, and in agricultural yards this figure was eight percent of the total. It is noteworthy that over 52 percent of the pigs are sold by large agro-holdings.
Among the reasons for reducing the number of pigs experts call the epidemic of ASF, which caused billions in losses to large companies and small business executives.
As reported in "URA-Inform", recent outbreaks of ASF were seen in Kherson, as well as in Odessa regions.
