The Cabinet intends to extend import duties on Russian goods

The rate was introduced in early 2016 in response to the relevant trade bans and restrictions of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. As stated in the agenda of the government meeting on Monday, December 18, the relevant draft resolution will be considered today and it provides for the extension of duties until December 31, 2018 inclusive.



Recall, as reported URA-Inform, according to the decision of the Government of Ukraine on December 30, 2015, from January 2, 2016 to all goods originating from Russia apply rates of import duty, set by the Customs Tariff of Ukraine. At the same time, free trade with Russia is canceled.

According to the decree adopted in December 2015, the decision of the Government of Ukraine "expires on December 31, 2016 or after the termination of the violation by the Russian Federation of the free trade zone agreement of October 18, 2011".

At the end of 2016, the Cabinet has already extended the effect of import duties for 2017.
