At the same time, the bill was considered on the basis of a full reading procedure and only 209 parliamentarians were prepared to support the document with 226 minimum necessary.
Thus, the project is aimed at improving the legal basis for organic production, circulation and labeling of organic products.
However, the recommended document presupposed changes in the requirements for the production, labeling and circulation of organic products, clearly established the basic principles for implementing the procedure for certification of organic production, as well as requirements for certification bodies.
Its authors proposed to entrust State Procurement Service with state supervision over the subjects of the market of organic products. Powers for certification of organic production are provided to accredited certification bodies. At the same time, certification of organic production will be carried out on a paid basis at the expense of business entities, issuing a certificate - free of charge.
Recall, as reported URA-Inform, in August last year, the Cabinet approved the creation of the register of producers of organic products.
