As follows from the order of the Ministry of Agriculture, published on Tuesday, November 14, until the end of the year we will bring no more than 50 thousand. tons of tomatoes from the Republic of Turkey. The fact that the tomato embargo was removed in principle, it became known a little earlier. The Rosselkhoznadzor checked production at three enterprises - Ozaltin, Agrobay, SURAL - and issued a coveted permission to them. According to the Turkish newspaper "Sabah", the first batch of these vegetables has already left the greenhouses in the Bergama area (Izmir province) direct course to St. Petersburg. According to the representative of the company Agrobay Arzu Shenturk, the Russian side has now signed a contract for 5 thousand. t of tomatoes. This is twice less than before - until 2015. The food embargo was part of Moscow's response to the Turkish Air Force's attack on the Russian Su-24 in Syria. A year later, restrictions on the supply of vegetables began to be gradually removed. The longest ban was the import of tomatoes. It was withdrawn from November 1, 2017.

On the eve of Sochi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks, which concluded that relations between the states have been fully restored. On the agenda is the restoration of trade turnover at the level of $ 100 billion.
