The government suggests increasing the excise tax on alcohol and tobacco

The corresponding initiative is set forth in the draft law "On Amending the Tax Code for the Revision of Rates of Certain Taxes". On Wednesday, July 19, the document was approved by the government at a meeting.

In particular, the document says that the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to lift from January 1, 2018 the excise tax rate on alcohol and tobacco products by 11.2%. In addition, rent rates for subsoil use for purposes not related to mining, rent for water use and rent for the use of forest resources are proposed to be increased by 16.8%.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine redistributed fuel excises in favor of local budgets. In January, the amount of accumulated excise tax from fuel amounted to 410 million hryvnia.
