The head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valery Gontareva said that he admits the possibility of his judicial or criminal prosecution after the resignation of the head of the NBU, but he is not going to leave the country.

"Persecution - it can be. Because the number of insinuations, provocations, bullshit, dirty companies - goes off scale. Is it worth it to be afraid? - No.

For a second I did not doubt that I had done everything right, "said Gontareva.

Gontareva also clarified that if she will go abroad, then only on vacation. She also noted that she will not go into politics and considers it unrealistic to delay the appointment of a new head of the NBU.

Recall, the head of the NBU Valery Gontareva resigned. She stated this on April 10, during an unscheduled press conference. Acting head of the central bank, she appointed her first deputy, Yakov Smolia.
