Ecologists find out the reasons for the mass death of herring in the Piltun Bay in northeast Sakhalin. This is reported by the public organization "Environmental Watch of Sakhalin".

"The scale of the death of the Pacific herring in the Piltun Bay is enormous. At one of the points of inspection near the mouth of the Khalchikov River, a dense cluster of dead fish was found on an area of ??440 square meters and a thickness of about 30 centimeters, which is approximately 93 tons of fish,.

Ecologists note that there were no other species of dead fish, except herring. The causes of anomalous death are not yet clear. The samples taken for analysis will be delivered to Moscow.
