It is reported that the tanker was loaded with oil products, which was transported on a ship of Panama. The tanker is operated by Chinese and citizens of Myanmar. The captain assures that he delivered gasoline to Japan, but was mistaken with the water area of ??the permitted crossing of the route. Earlier, South Korean border guards caught another vessel that was heading towards southeast Asia.

From the ship, the border guards pumped 600 tons of gasoline into a North Korean ship. The tanker allegedly was supposed to deliver gasoline to Taiwan.

Frequent cases of illegal transportation of gasoline to the DPRK are associated with sanctions that the Security Council imposed on the country. Lack of fuel can undermine the economy of North Korea and force its leadership to abandon the development of nuclear weapons.

As reported in the "URA-Inform", the DPRK recently severely condemned the UN sanctions.
