Users of the network reviewed the monument to Mikhail Kalashnikov, opened on September 19 in the center of Moscow, and found on it the drawings of the German assault rifle StG 44 (Sturmgewehr 44), developed in 1944. "Saw a monument to Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov with the explosion of Sturmgever - it's just aerobatics! ", Wrote military historian Yuri Pasholok in his Facebook. Users also expressed concern that now another wave of applications will begin, as if Kalashnikov did not invent his machine, but copied the brainchild of Hugo Schmeisser. StG 44 visually similar to the legendary creation of the Soviet designer-gunsmith AK-47, but the nodes and details they have different, the main discrepancy lies in the mechanism of locking the trunk channel. In AK locking occurs by turning the shutter around the longitudinal axis, for StG 44 - the gate in the vertical plane. The StG 44 was developed by the German designer Hugo Schmeisser in the first half of the 1940s and entered service in Germany in 1944. The weapon was called the "assault rifle" (Sturmgewehr) and in fact became the world's first automatic machine of the modern type, created for an interim cartridge and produced serially. The StG-44 is equipped with a trigger-type trigger mechanism and can fire both single shots and bursts. The work of automation is based on the principle of the removal of powder gases from the barrel channel. The monument was erected at the intersection of Sadovo-Karetnaya and Dolgorukovskaya streets.

The height of the monument was 7.5 meters, the composition depicts a gunsmith holding an automaton. The appearance of the sculpture caused a discussion in social networks. Musician Andrei Makarevich called her worthless and ugly. In response, the author of the monument Salavat Shcherbakov advised the singer not to get into someone else's professional sphere.
