In 2016, the Nemtsov Foundation's award went to Lev Shlosberg, a member of the Yabloko party. Dudin became the first to be convicted under Article 212. 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for participation in uncoordinated protest actions.

In December 2015, the activist was sentenced to three years in a general-regime colony. In November 2016, Dudin complained of beatings at Sekgezh IK-7, where he served a sentence, but the investigation did not reveal violations of the rights of the convict. The verdict to Dadin was abolished by the Supreme Court, the decision was reconsidered on the instructions of the Constitutional Court. The activist was released on February 26.
