Ukraine imposed a tax on Russian chocolate

Russian chocolate and other products containing cocoa will be taxed at a rate of 31.33 percent on the territory of Ukraine. This is reported by the official publication of the Ukrainian Cabinet - the newspaper "Uryadovy kur'er". According to the publication, the decision was made by the Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade (ICMT). The duty will be charged 30 days after the publication of the decree, its validity period is five years. Experts ММКТ have established that in the period from 2013 to 2015, Russian producers of cocoa-containing products exported their goods to Ukraine at a dumping rate, which caused damage to the economy of the country. According to the commission, the volume of production of chocolate products in Ukraine fell by 8 percent, and sales in the domestic market fell by almost 21 percent.

Plans for the introduction of such measures were reported the previous day. On the same day, Kiev introduced anti-dumping duties on the import of two types of Russian nitrogen fertilizers (carbamide and CAS), the Governmental portal of the country. "From now on, the duty of 31.84 percent will apply to all carbamide and CAS manufacturers originating from the Russian Federation," reads the statement..
