In the capital of Belarus, an opposition politician Mikalai Statkevich was sentenced to five days of administrative arrest.

This writes BBC.

Employees of the Leninski district militia department of Minsk on April 29 reported the arrest of Statkevich to his wife Marina Adamovich, who began her husband's search the day before after he stopped contacting.

Statkevich was arrested allegedly for calling on his supporters to leave May 1 for a demonstration against the policies of the country's President Alexander Lukashenko.

Recall, on March 25, 2017 Statkevich was already arrested for calls for mass protests.

As reported by the "Observer", Statkevich, who was running for president of Belarus earlier, was previously sentenced to six years in prison on the case of organizing mass riots after the presidential election in Belarus in December 2010, which Lukashenko won. August 22, 2015 Lukashenka pardoned the ex-presidential candidate Statkevich.
