The armament of the Ukrainian army with modern weapons and equipment is our response to the hysteria and provocations of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov today during the transfer of military equipment and weapons to the military at the Kiev Armored Plant..

According to the press service of Turchinov, the Ukrainian military received 70 units of weapons and military equipment, in particular, modernized T-72 tanks, new BTR-3s, high-precision anti-tank systems “Stugna-P” and “Korsar”, mobile circular radar “ Delta ", the newest armored cars" Varta "and" Novator ", as well as 82-mm mortars of Ukrainian production.

According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the T-72 tank is a combat vehicle that has undergone a deep modernization, which allows it to be used effectively in the conditions of modern combat. “The domestic BTR-3 showed itself very well in the east, which was seriously refined after being used in combat conditions, which made it possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of its use and to achieve high accuracy of firing from all types of weapons,” he noted.

“Powerful, effective and reliable anti-tank missile systems manufactured by Luch Design Bureau are well-known far beyond our country’s borders and are in great demand on foreign arms markets,” Turchinov said, adding that, in particular, Stugna-P is not inferior only Russian, but also European and American counterparts ".

He said that in only 3 quarters of the current year, the enterprises of the Ukroboronprom group of companies transferred to the Ukrainian army “more than 3,500 weapons and military equipment, including more than 2,000 units — new and modernized weapons”. “We are talking about armored, naval and aviation equipment, rocket and artillery weapons, air defense systems, communications and electronic warfare,” said the NSDC Secretary of Ukraine, expressing the hope that the pace of supplying our army and other security forces should not decrease again next year. “I hope this will be reflected in the State Defense Order for the next year, and in the budget, which should be approved in parliament in the near future,” he added..

In addition, Turchinov noted that the non-state sector of the military-industrial complex is also actively working on fulfilling the state defense order.. “An example of this is the Varta and Novator armored vehicles, and the 82-mm mortars that we hand over to the military today,” he noted, stressing that the Novator’s performance “is the fastest and most maneuverable armored vehicle among those today are in service ". The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine also said that the new Ukrainian 82-mm mortars have a reduced weight and improved performance characteristics due to the use of special alloys in the design with a high range and accuracy of the impression of targets.

“It’s important,” noted Turchinov, “that we have the opportunity to transfer new equipment and weapons not only to the front, but also to military schools so that the cadets can directly master modern weapons and receive training on new equipment, which they will command after receiving officer epaulet ".

According to him, each new unit of military equipment and weapons makes our state stronger and brings victory. “The armament of the Ukrainian army with modern weapons and equipment is our adequate response to the hysteria and provocations of the Russian Federation against Ukraine,” summed up the NSDC Secretary of Ukraine.
