The Department of Migration of Lithuania published a list of 49 Russian citizens, against whom Vilnius imposed sanctions in connection with their involvement in money laundering and human rights violations, reports Delfi.

Sanctions against Russians were introduced in accordance with the "Magnitsky Law", which entered into force on January 1.

The others on the list include the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin and his deputy Oleg Logunov, as well as judges Elena Stashina, Alexey Krivoruchko, Svetlana Ukhnalyova, Sergei Podoprigorov, heads of the Moscow Tax Inspectorate, other officials.

The list was banned from entry to Lithuania.

In November last year, the Seimas of Lithuania adopted the so-called "Magnitsky law". 91 MPs voted unanimously for the draft.

Lithuania became the fourth country in the world to adopt such a legal act. "Magnitsky's laws" are in force in the USA, Estonia and Canada.

Act Magnitsky was adopted in December 2012 in the United States and introduces personal sanctions against those responsible for violations of human rights and the rule of law. The law is named in honor of businessman Sergei Magnitsky, who disclosed the theft from the Russian budget, for which he was tortured in a Moscow detention center in 2009.
