The Security Service of Ukraine called on citizens to be especially vigilant during the celebration of Independence Day, since Russia, in conditions of a full-scale war, can use these events for shelling, provocations, terrorist attacks, sabotage, cyber attacks and other attacks.

The SBU asks Ukrainians to take responsibility for their own safety and follow several basic rules:.

do not ignore air raid signals and determine in advance where the nearest shelter is located;

do not approach suspicious objects, much less move or check them yourself;

report to law enforcement authorities if suspicious persons, objects or other signs of possible illegal activity are detected;

do not publish photos and videos from military locations, critical infrastructure facilities, checkpoints, air defense systems, etc..

do not disseminate information about the consequences of shelling, the work of air defense or the movement of Ukrainian military personnel;

do not comply with requests from unknown persons (even if they pose as law enforcement officers) offering to carry out dubious or outright illegal instructions, such as delivering a parcel or leaving an item at a specified location.

“If unknown persons offer money for arson, damage to property, installation of unknown objects, collection of information about military installations or other illegal actions, do not agree to such offers and immediately report this to the SBU,” the department urges.

Let us recall that Russian special services have already organized several assassination attempts on famous persons, posing as representatives of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.. The latest of them is the assassination attempt on the commander of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard “Charter” Igor Obolensky in Kharkov, whom an elderly man tried to shoot.
