Journalists published evidence that Russian occupiers are exporting Ukrainian grain from Crimea to Turkish ports. This is stated in the investigation of the project "

Despite assurances from the Turkish authorities that they do not recognize Crimea as Russian and do not buy stolen Ukrainian grain from the occupied territories, investigators publish satellite images that prove that Russia systematically exports Ukrainian grain through Crimea to Turkey.

Vessels regularly call at the port of the occupied Sevastopol, loaded with grain brought from the temporarily occupied territories through the Avlita terminal, and unloaded in Turkish ports.

The occupiers turn off the radars on ships, so these processes cannot be tracked using special monitoring systems, but they are regularly captured by satellite images.

One of these ships is Mikhail Nenashev flying the Russian flag.. Journalists have evidence of at least three of his flights from the port in the Crimea to the ports of Turkey.

“On April 15, the Planet Labs satellite spotted this bulk carrier off the Avlita. Due to the radars being turned off for three days, the vessel remained “unnoticed” by the official monitoring system of Marine Traffic vessels. At the same time, this service recorded that before entering the Crimean port, it was “in ballast” - that is, empty. And after - already loaded. April 22 " Four days later, the system recorded that the bulk carrier had unloaded,” the investigation says..

Another Syrian ship Finikia was shown by the satellite in Avlit on April 20. The next day it went to sea loaded and appeared on the radar. On April 29, Finikia unloaded grain in Nemrut, Turkey. The vessel again turned off the radar on May 10, and on May 13 it was recorded by a satellite in the Crimean terminal. The bulk carrier was loaded with grain and arrived in Turkish Iskenderun on May 24.

In the report, the journalists describe in detail each voyage of the mentioned ships, and also publish accompanying documents on the grain that Turkey imports in large quantities - the origin of the goods in them is indicated as "

In a comment to Schemes, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasily Bodnar said: “We are working with the Turkish side.

But we are told that the Russian documents that are provided for the import of grain into the port are legal and they perceive them as sufficient to unload the ship in a legal way..

After Ukraine turned to Turkey with a request to detain and arrest the ship, suggesting that its cargo could be stolen, Turkish customs detained the Zhibek Zholy ship, which left the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Berdyansk and arrived in the port of Karas in Turkey on July 1.
