Switzerland is ready to make its diplomatic contribution to ending the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Bern is engaged in dialogue and diplomatic efforts at the bilateral and multilateral levels to ensure progress in this direction, said in an interview with ZN. UA President of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis, with whom Vasily Zorya spoke.

According to the leader of Switzerland, the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine showed the invincibility of the Ukrainians, but decisions in the war come not only on the battlefield. However, Cassis noted that he would not want to be in the place of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

" I hope I never end up in this position. I deeply respect and sympathize with President Zelensky. We are amazed by his leadership qualities, strength and determination. I have repeatedly spoken to him about this since the beginning of the war.. If recent events have unambiguously shown us something, it is not only the steadfast spirit of the president, but also the invincibility of the entire Ukrainian people. But history teaches us that decisions in war come not only on the battlefield, but also at the negotiating table,” Cassis said..

According to him, Switzerland is ready to contribute to a peaceful and stable solution through its diplomacy..

“We are engaged in dialogue and diplomatic efforts at the bilateral and multilateral levels to ensure progress in this direction.. Switzerland offers its good offices and has a long tradition and experience as an intermediary. This is the core of our foreign policy, and in this we see our advantage for the world..

Not only for himself, but also for people in Ukraine and all of Europe,” Cassis explained..
