The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regards the undermining of the car with the OSCE SMM observers in the occupied part of the Luhansk region as a confirmation of attempts by the Russian authorities and the terrorist organizations under its control to intimidate the Mission's employees.

"We are considering a serious incident that occurred on the territory of illegal armed groups controlled by Russia, as a confirmation of Moscow's attempts and its puppets to intimidate OSCE observers, to nullify the efforts of Ukraine and the SMM to stabilize the situation on the line of demarcation," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's commentary In the evening on Sunday, April 23.

In connection with the incident, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry urged the Russian Federation to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements, as well as to stop provocations against observers and to provide them with unhindered access to the entire territory of the ORLLO.

"We call on Russia to fulfill its obligations under the Minsk accords and take all urgent measures to immediately stop provocations against OSCE observers, as well as guarantee their full security and unhindered access of SMM to the entire occupied area of ??the OPLO, up to the temporarily uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian Borders, "the document says.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that the Ukrainian side will do everything possible to ensure an urgent, comprehensive and impartial investigation into the death and injury of the OSCE SMM staff in the OPO to bring those responsible to justice.
