Illegal mining of crypto currency was handled by the provider of Wi-Fi network of Starbucks coffee houses. This is reported by Motherboard, referring to the comments of customers. On December 2, Twitter user Noah Dinkin told Starbucks, about a ten-second delay when the laptop connected to the wireless Internet and found the code of CoinHive, the developer of the script, which is embedded in the sites for the crypto currency of Monero. On December 12, representatives of Starbucks on Twitter acknowledged this fact and said that the provider "solved the problem". A representative of Starbucks told the publication that the problem only affected the coffee shop in Buenos Aires and that the reason was the service provider of the company, and not the network of coffee houses. As reported, in the annexed Crimea officials of the so-called "government" tried to obtain a crypto currency, installing the necessary software.
