For the first time in the world, a case of human infection with the H7N4 avian influenza virus was detected - it is registered in China, the South China Morning Post.

The sick woman is 68 years old, a resident of Jiangsu Province. The first symptoms of the disease appeared on December 25, 2017, she was hospitalized and spent three weeks in the hospital.

It is known that the woman was in contact with a living bird. At the same time, none of those who contacted her were ill.



The Chinese authorities do not report whether there is an outbreak of avian influenza H7N4 at the moment, the newspaper writes..

The most common form of the bird flu virus in China is H7N9, from which at least 600 people have died since 2013. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2003-2013, 384 people died from the disease.
