Employees of the Danish and Californian universities analyzed 5,856 cases of cancer in children from Denmark, who were diagnosed with a diagnosis before age 16. After assessing the age of parents, scientists divided the children into groups. It turned out that the children of women who gave birth after 35 years were more likely to suffer from cancer. In particular, the risk of developing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma significantly increased, writes The Daily Mail.

In addition, the researchers found that in children of women who gave birth at the age of 30-34 years, the risk of Hodgkin's lymphoma was increased. According to experts, with age, people become more chromosomal mutations. Probably, because of this, the probability of cancer in their children increases.

Scientists are concerned, as more and more couples have children recently.

The age of the mother influenced the risk of cancer in children more than the age of the father. However, the children of older men were also slightly more likely to suffer from leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Researchers say: parents who decide to have a baby later can reduce the risk of developing a cancer, leading a healthy lifestyle. So, they should stop smoking, limit alcohol consumption and try to avoid exposure to hazardous chemicals.
