New Zealand researchers found another reason why some people are inclined to gain excess weight faster than others.

A study conducted at the Oakland Institute shows that, while in the womb, the fetus analyzes the amount of incoming nutrients in order to predict which environment it will get after birth.

Thus, if there are few nutrients from the mother, the genetic memory of the child will choose a kind of metabolism in which he can store and gain weight.

However, having appeared in the light, it turns out that food, especially rich in fat, is enough, so a child, and then an adult, begins to gain excess fat.

Experimental studies confirmed the hypothesis, showing that in female rats that were malnourished during pregnancy, descendants were prone to obesity.

If they were injected with a leptin hormone that creates a feeling of saturation, they did not overeat and kept within normal weight.

Studies are among the first in the field of influence of the embryonic environment on the further health of man.
