Apple received a lawsuit from users dissatisfied with the MacBook keyboard

Thousands of users affected by the keyboard defects of the new MacBook and MacBook Pro 2016 filed a class action lawsuit with the Federal District Court of the Northern District of California, according to AIN. UA with reference to 9to5mac. In it, they blame the company - allegedly Apple knew about the problems with the unreliability of the new "butterfly" mechanism, but still put the devices on sale.

Due to the imperfect design of the buttons, even dust and small debris causes problems - particles are clogged under the buttons and block their operation due to a small power reserve. The plaintiffs mention that Apple is in bad faith in fulfilling the warranty obligations: the service centers often refuse to acknowledge a malfunction. The problem is offered to solve with expensive repairs.

The company is required to recover damages, as well as replace the failed parts from all participants in the process.

This is not the first time when a new keyboard with the "butterfly" mechanism is being paid a lot of attention. Previously dissatisfied with its work, users treated a petition that described similar problems and collected 17,000 signatures.

The keyboard with the "butterfly" mechanism debuted in 2015 with the release of a 12-inch MacBook of the first generation. Its main advantages: a small stroke of buttons, a uniform distribution of taps and a more accurate illumination. In notebooks released in 2017, the "butterfly" of the second generation.
