The weekend in Gelsenkirchen turned into a real statistical nightmare for the venerable champions of Germany. Having played to a goalless draw with Schalke unexpectedly advancing in class, Bayern Munich have left the field without a goal scored for the first time in 59 tournament matches.

However, the main anti-record lies in another: for the first time in 67 Bundesliga rounds - after perhaps two rocks of uninterrupted hegemony - Bayern lost the first convergence of the tournament table. The team's leading scorer, Harry Kane, also recorded his ideal statistics.. Until this round, the captain of the England national team has scored goals against absolutely all 20 Bundesliga teams, with which he has competed.

Schalke became the first club that did not allow Kane to score (now it’s a show for them to become 20 out of 21 teams). For the forward, this is his 96th match in the championship, and he needs to score only two goals to reach the 100-goal mark, and the record was extended during the holiday season.

The foundation for this result was laid by the head coach of the guests, Vincent Kompany, who, after a crushing victory over Stuttgart (5:1) and Osnabruck (4:1), went on to a world-class rotation. Having left Kane and Michael Olise on the bench, the coach ended an absolutely invincible first half.

Despite the total ball battle, the champions’ attack looked toothless. In the other half of the team, Luis Dias became the main money-maker of the chances, who failed to realize two attempts in the evening, once breaking through the goal, and the other - throwing the ball over the goalkeeper, but not achieving it at the net.

Schalke goalkeeper Loris Karius became the real evil genius for Bayern. He not only neutralized Dias, but also made a dazzling save with his fingertips, snatching the ball from the top nine after a shot from Kane, who was the best substitute.

The appearance on the field of Olize and Jamal Musiali (who played for the first time in the season after problems with his health) 35 minutes before the end of the game did not help to break through the compact and disciplined defense of the Gospodars. Now the Munich team will have to quickly prepare for the failure and interruption of the super series.

Already on four occasions, Bayern will start in Champions League with a home match against the Norwegian Bodo-Glimt, and on the 13th will try to capture another sensation from the foreign team against another newcomer.
