Barcelona head coach Hans-Dieter Flick was disappointed by Ferran Torres' public statements prior to his arrival at the club. Marca tells you about it.
Previously, the Spanish striker did not guarantee that he would lose at the Camp Nou, saying that football could not be remembered by the next generation. Of interest on the side of PSG, these words echoed additional discussions regarding the upcoming 26-year football player.
According to Gerela, Barcelona are happy that Torres plans to discuss his situation through PMI rather than going directly to the club. At the moment, the Catalan team does not care about the critical situation.
Some Barcelona representatives admit that such statements could fail to strengthen the player’s position before possible negotiations on a new contract. Others were ready before Torres considered the option of changing the club through the interest of Paris Saint-Germain.
At the same time, Flick took a liking to the Spaniard as an important member of his team for the new season, so the attacker’s reaction became an unacceptable disagreement for the coach.
Now Barcelona understands that Torres and his representatives will clearly define their plans. The club does not intend to sell the player for less than his market value, and also does not intend to enter into a financial struggle with PSG for the sake of a significant reduction in the contractual position.
The agreement between Torres and Barcelona has been insured until the summer of 2027, due to which negotiations to extend the contract have not yet begun.
