German midfielder Mesut Ozil signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

Arsenal extended the contract with his midfielder Mesut Ozil until 2021, the official website of the "Gunners".

According to the BBC, the 29-year-old player of the German national team became the highest paid player in the history of the club, and will earn 350 thousand pounds a week.

Ozil moved to Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 for 50 million euros.

Since then, he spent 182 games for Arsen Wenger's team, scored 36 goals and gave 61 assists. With the "Gunners" Mesut won the FA Cup three times (2013/14, 2014/15 and 2016/17) and one Super Cup of England (2015).

In the current season, Ozil spent 21 matches in Arsenal in all tournaments, which scored four goals and gave seven assists.
