Czech biathlete Gabriela Koukalova will not be able to perform at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang.

The reason for this were the problems with the gastrocnemius muscles, which began to bother the athlete in the summer.

"I tried to do everything possible to return. Unfortunately, it did not work out. I'm sorry, because the Olympics is the top of the career for every athlete, "Koukalova told the official website of the Czech Biathlon Union.

Note that at the last Olympic Games in Sochi, the athlete won three medals - "silver" in the mass start and mixed relay, as well as bronze in the classical relay race.
