Italians were the main consumers of seafood on the planet

Italians are the largest consumers of fish products in the world (95% of the residents of Italy replied that fish and seafood are the main constituents of their diet).

On the second and third place in Europe, France and Switzerland are located, with a huge margin from Italy: 34% and 32% respectively, notes Italy in Russian.



This was confirmed by the studies of the Marine Strategic Council, the Marine Stewardship Council, held in early 2018 in 22 international markets, from Australia to the United States.

Among the main reasons for buying seafood is its utility. When choosing fish products, first of all, Italians pay attention to its freshness. 78% of respondents answered that they know that when buying seafood of certified origin, they not only guarantee to purchase quality products, but also contribute to the "health" of the seas and oceans.
