Ukrainian academician Viktor Vergunov caused a scandal by an anti-Semitic joke, which he dismissed during one of the public appearances.

Vergunov's statements were indicated in his Facebook by the director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, Eduard Dolinsky.

"Not those Jews are above us!". These words of the academician, a member of the Union of Journalists and the director of the National Agricultural Library caused long and prolonged applause in the hall where the congress of the political party "Fatherland" was held, - described what is happening in the video Dolinsky.

After that, Victor Vergunov continued his speech. "Dear colleagues, I mean that every village, every district needs to grow them, as some of our regions. As they say, if sport were profitable, then on each horizontal bar there would be five Jews. Do not forget. You'll excuse for God's sake, but glory to Ukraine, "said the academician.
