American actor Richard Gere blames that he is not being taken to film, China.

According to Gere, China today is one of the main markets for Hollywood. As a Tibetan Buddhist and close friend of the Dalai Lama, the actor resented the Chinese occupation of Tibet during the Oscar ceremony in 1993, when he presented the statuette for the best work of the artist.

The actor believes that there are films in which he is not taken simply because the Chinese will say: "No, only not he". In an interview for "The Hollywood Reporter" Gere also noted that recently he was just such a case: the picture with the actor was left without funding, since his participation in the film would upset China.

So, the other day Gere had to launch a joint project with one of the Chinese directors, but a couple of weeks before the filming began, he refused the film, citing a secret call "from the very top".

Allegedly, in the case of cooperation with the American actor, the director and his family will be permanently closed to entry into the country.
