Former lead singer of Backstreet Boys Nick Carter responded to charges of raping Melissa Schumann.

According to Carter, Schumann's statements upset him. The perpetrator claims that everything that happened happened by mutual agreement with Melissa.

"I am shocked and upset by the accusations of Mrs. Schumann. Melissa was not against being with me, so we had everything by mutual consent. We had to record a joint song, then to perform. I have always respected Melissa and her creativity. This is the first time that I hear these allegations almost two decades later.

This contradicts my nature and everything that I consider expensive, deliberately causing someone discomfort or harm, "- noted the musician, writes The Guardian.

Recall, a few days ago, an American singer and actress Melissa Schumann said that in 2002, when she was 18, she was raped then by a soloist Backstreet Boys Nick Carter. The girl asked the singer not to do this, because she was a virgin and took care of herself for her future husband, to which Nick replied: "I can be your husband".
