On Vernadsky Avenue, not far from the metro station "University", there is a theater in which amazing things happen even for Moscow. There are old operas and chamber concerts of the cycle "Portraits of Composers", an interactive "Rehearsal of the Orchestra" for the film by Federico Fellini, "Iolanta" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and "Love for Three Oranges" by Sergei Prokofiev, "Chanterelle". Love. "Leos Janacek and" Exercises and Dances of Guido "by Vladimir Martynov. And there play "Carmen" by Georges Bizet. This theater is called Natalia Sats Children's Musical Theater. And thanks to the fact that the eighth season he is led by George Isahakyan, there appeared this repertoire - refined, refined. These performances can be safely attributed to the so-called "evening repertoire", the repertoire for adults. These are masterpieces of the world opera, productions in which we are talking about love and pain, about passion and despair, about betrayal and about unfulfilled dreams. "Of course, for all these evening performances you can and should come with your children - teenagers, teenagers, young people, just entering into adulthood, only beginning to think about its meaning and its place in this huge, complex and beautiful world ... But you can come together and leave the children to grandmothers or nannies - just to be alone, to regain the acuity of perception of reality, which is nowhere so acute, so infinitely deep and talented as in the masterpieces of the world opera, "said George Isahakyan. "Carmen" he put as a conversation about the relationship between a man and a woman, about love. "We tried to create a stylish, spectacular performance, not using the techniques that have already become stamps in the modern theater," the director said.. - We managed to agree with the Picasso Foundation that the scenography was based on Picasso's painting dedicated to the bullfight:

I wanted to convey the sensations of the heat of the air, the dust particles, the refracting light. It seems to me that we have a very lively and playful performance ". "Carmen" George Isahakyan won the recognition not only of the Moscow public, but also of the Irish audience: at the Opera Theater in Dublin, the play was shown in 2013 and in 2017, and both tours were held with absolute success. The scenery of the play was created with the support of the Pablo Picasso Foundation and on the motives of his paintings.
