The Vladimir region does not leave hopes to increase its incomes due to the development of domestic tourism. In addition to the ancient temples of the cities of the Golden Ring in the region, they try to develop festivals of traditional food, or, as in the case of Suzdal's "Mead Feast," drinks.

The festival dedicated to the old Russian low-alcohol beverage was held in Suzdal for the second time. It is located on 11 thematic sites, which, contrary to the name, were not exclusively dedicated to mead.

The best chefs and producers from all over the region represented a variety of meat and fish delicacies, cheeses, pastries, beer, and, of course, the mead, which in Suzdal produces many varieties. Participated and producers of mead from other regions. For example, from Kolomna and St. Petersburg.

The theme of honey and everything connected with it. At the gastronomic master classes, the chef and prize-winners of the culinary championships of the Vladimir region shared the secrets of preparing authentic Russian dishes and demonstrated their skills in preparing the most unusual dishes, based on honey.

Among the guests of honor were the President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia Igor Bukharov, the Vice-President of the Association of Small Tourist Cities Igor Kekhter, the Chairman of the Committee on Tourism of the Vladimir Region Elena Pereskova, the Head of the Administration of the City of Suzdal Sergey Sakharov, the Vice President of the " on tourism Alexey Kozhevnikov.

The festival was run by the vice-governor of the Vladimir region, Mikhail Kolkov, who said from the scene that "life in Russia can be not only interesting but also delicious" and that "local products are becoming more competitive".

Interesting life in Russia was demonstrated by the performance of the children's ensemble "Photosynthesis", the show of a model line of local fashion designers (frankly awful) and the power show "I Love Russia". In general, this side of the festival clearly left much to be desired.



Despite the good weather (it was about +15 ° C), the figure of 6 thousand participants (and this is both visitors and residents of the city) can hardly be called a record, since about as many tourists visit the city of Suzdal on a regular weekend.

It was evident that the local authorities tried, but still up to the highest ratings of the "Meat Fest" is not yet reaching, although the potential of this festival definitely is. Yet the combination of mead and ancient architecture is perceived quite organically.
