Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports that Moldovan President Igor Dodon invited Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko to visit the republic in 2018.

Dodon, following a meeting with Matvienko on Sunday, September 17 in Ashgabat, where the opening ceremony of the 5th Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts Games will be held, wrote in his Facebook:

"I invited Ms. Matvienko to visit Moldova next year".

Dodon also thanked the Russian side for the decisions that have made it possible to increase Moldovan exports to Russia, as well as for measures to legalize Moldovan labor migrants in Russia, the newspaper reports..

The President of Moldova noted that "cooperation between the regions of the Gagauz autonomy and the regions of Russia brings results, this cooperation needs to be expanded and intensified".
