"RT" writes that the chairman of the European Commission (EC) Jean-Claude Juncker said on Wednesday, September 13 that the European Union does not exclude the possibility of further expansion, but until 2019 new countries the community will not definitely accept.

He added that Turkey's accession to the EU in the future is excluded, without mentioning Ukraine.

Junker, speaking with an annual message to the members of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, said: "It is obvious that during the time of the powers of this Commission and this Parliament [until 2019] there will be no further expansion. No candidate is ready yet. But in the future the European Union will have more than 27 countries ".

The EC President stressed that all applicants for EU membership are subject to the same stringent requirements. He said: "The candidates for accession must make the supremacy of law, justice and fundamental human rights an absolute priority".

The head of the EC, stressed in this connection, that in Brussels they do not consider the possible accession to the EU of Turkey. Juncker pointed out:

"This [non-compliance with the rules] excludes Turkey's membership in the EU in the foreseeable future".

He also noted that the European Union is not abandoning the policy of integration of the countries of the former Yugoslavia - Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, which are regarded in the EU as a single region of the Western Balkans: "If we want more stability next door to our borders, Support a coherent prospect of expansion for the Western Balkans ".
