"RT in Russian" reports that German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Europeans no longer have to rely on others and should decide their own fate.

Bild quotes the Chancellor: "The time when we could completely rely on others, passed. This I realized in the past days ".

It follows from Merkel's words that the European Union should maintain friendly relations with the United States and Great Britain, as well as with other countries, including Russia. She also notes that Europeans should decide for themselves about their future future.

Merkel said: "We Europeans should really take their destiny into their own hands".

This statement was made by Angela Merkel in Munich, where she arrived after the G7 summit in Italy.
