The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine completes work on the development of a draft law that should allow the commencement of a comprehensive reconstruction of the obsolete housing stock.

It is reported by the press service of the Ministry.

The draft law proposed consent for the reconstruction of at least 75% of the tenants. Now the current law spelled the mandatory consent of 100% of residents of houses.

Which houses will be subject to demolition or replacement, and the reconstruction of which is impossible without resettlement, will be determined on the basis of the project documentation for reconstruction, which has undergone an appropriate process of discussion and approval.

It is assumed that the residents of such houses should be resettled, as the main option, to starting houses within the quarter (neighborhood), which is being reconstructed. In addition, the possibility of temporary relocation to a maneuverable fund and to other equivalent residential premises in apartment buildings, including the secondary market, is being considered (by agreement).

The bill still has to approve the Cabinet of Ministers, and then - the Verkhovna Rada.
