Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko predicted what winter would be like for the residents of the capital and told how the city is preparing for it.

Authorities are considering several scenarios and asking residents to prepare for the worst, he said..

" We live in harsh realities and must calculate different scenarios. Gas is the responsibility of the government, they assured us that there will be gas for the population and that it will not rise in price. It's waiting. But we do not rule out that there may be terrorist acts, attacks on gas pumping stations. This scenario is also taken into account.. We purchased generators, fuel for these generators. First of all, they will go to hospitals, kindergartens and schools.. We will do everything possible and impossible that depends on us to keep the houses warm,"

He also urged the residents of the capital to prepare properly for the winter - to find warm clothes for the house and blankets.. Klitschko suggested that the temperature in the houses this winter will be lower than usual - not 21 degrees, but drop to 18.

The mayor of the capital does not rule out power outages, although he assures that the authorities know how to act in this situation as well..

" If there is no heating or no gas, we have fuel oil reserves. One day we will be able to function autonomously. But this is a fairly short period of time that is needed to solve the problem,"

The heating season will either follow the new rules or become the first catastrophe since independence. Read more in the article by Nikola Tesla "
