Ukraine increased export of medicines to Russia

Ukraine in January-February 2018 significantly increased the export of medicines to the Russian Federation, while reducing imports of Russian pharmaceutical products. According to Gosstat, for two months in 2018 Ukraine, in particular, exported medicines to Russia for $ 3.5 million, which is 18% more than a year ago. At the same time, imports of drugs from Russia to Ukraine during this period decreased by 40.4% - to $ 2.85 million. According to Gosstat, last year Ukraine exported medicines to Russia for $ 27.89 million, which is 31.

9% more than a year ago, imported medicines from Russia for $ 29.79 million (15.9% less). In general, in 2017, Ukraine exported medicines to $ 171.170 million, including to the CIS countries for $ 143.057 million. In Russia, now due to imposed sanctions, the ways of import substitution and reduction of dependence on foreign pharmaceutical companies. The decline in the import of Russian medicines to Ukraine began after the introduction in Ukraine of the requirement of compliance of drugs in circulation with GMP standards.
