Gazprom refuses to recognize the legitimacy of the antimonopoly imposed by Ukraine on it. On Wednesday, March 21, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the statement of the company. "The reports that appeared in the media about the recovery of money from Ukraine by Gazprom indicate that attempts to illegally seize Gazprom's property under the guise of the execution of the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine in 2016 to impose a fine. "Gazprom" does not recognize the legality of the imposition of a fine and considers these actions of Ukraine a violation of its rights, including those guaranteed by the Russian-Ukrainian intergovernmental agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments dated November 27, 1998, "- said in a statement of the gas monopoly. The company noted that Gazprom sent a notice to Kyiv about the violation by the Ukrainian side of its obligations to protect investments and is already preparing a suit for applying to international arbitration. The day before the Minister of Justice of the Nezalezhnaya, Pavel Petrenko, said that his country had recovered from the Russian holding more than 100 million hryvnias (about $ 3.

8 million): "Everything that Gazprom had on the territory of Ukraine was described, arrested and recovered in the state budget ". Recall that in February 2016 the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine fined our concern for 85.9 billion hryvnia (about $ 3.26 billion at the current rate) allegedly because of violation of the law on the protection of competition. Until now, Gazprom has been trying to achieve the cancellation of this decision in Ukrainian courts, but to no avail.
