The Transport Commission of the deputies of the Lviv City Council supported the petition of the townspeople to completely abandon private carriers in favor of electric transport and buses.

This is stated in the story of Radio NV.

Full transition to electric transport and buses must be carried out within five years, decided the commission. The final decision on the refusal of fixed-route taxis should be taken by the Lviv City Council. The question can be submitted for consideration as early as next week, a representative of the deputy commission Roman Ivantsov. But while the initiative is declarative.

According to the deputy of the city council, it is necessary to develop a road map. The most important thing in the deputy initiative is that public transport is convenient, including for people with special needs, stressed Ivancov. Companies currently regulating the movement of minibuses may be offered a different cooperation. And the drivers of public transport in Lviv already is not enough, said the deputy of the City Council.

The idea of ??refusing minibuses in major cities also sounds at the level of the Ministry of Infrastructure, an expert of the public association Eurocontrol Vyacheslav Konovalov. But corruption can prevent it from being implemented, he believes..

"Billions are needed to implement these projects. Without political will and refusal of bribes on the part of officials it is still impossible to realize, "said Konovalov.

Large buses in the cities - this is the practice of European countries, said on the air of Radio NV First Deputy Chairman of the State Service for Transport Security Vyacheslav Didkovskiy. As he said, refusal of minibuses will help to unload a city network.

If the initiative is supported by the city council, Lviv will become the first regional center of Ukraine without shuttles. The nearest plenary meeting of the Lviv City Council is scheduled for March 22.

How does transportation work in the cities of the world? Public transport in London consists of buses, including world-famous two-story, as well as trams, the world's oldest subway and ground rail. The bus routes of London are almost 4 thousand kilometers, and the metro lines - more than 300 kilometers. Public transport in the capital of Great Britain works around the clock, there are about 50 round-the-clock bus routes, and the metro runs from morning till late evening; at night the metro lines duplicate special bus routes, the minimum fare is two pounds forty pence.

In the capital of France, the fastest transport is the metro. In almost any point in Paris can be reached with only one transfer, buses, trams, city and commuter trains travel around the city; a single ticket system operates, but with it one can not transfer from underground to land transport.. The cheapest rate - from two euros.

Metro and buses are the main mode of transportation in New York. One trip in the subway, regardless of distance, will cost two dollars seventy-five cents;

Trains run not along lines, but on routes that change on weekends. Buses in New York stop only on request, you can pay for travel only by coins, the vending machines are located at the driver's seat.

In Tokyo, the capital of Japan, the third largest metro in the world, there is a system of monorail transport, which drives without machinists, only one tram line is preserved. Bus routes operate both municipal carriers and private companies, one trip costs about two dollars.
