Ukraine is able to fully meet its own food needs for most items, has every opportunity to increase the capacity of agricultural production to increase exports, and cases of price fluctuations for food in the country should be considered by the Antimonopoly Committee. This was said by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman during the meeting of the Government.

He stressed that the agricultural sector is defined as one of the points of economic growth. And that is why, in the draft State Budget for 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers has laid a large array of support programs for agrarians - primarily in the segment of small and medium-sized farming and agricultural machinery.

"We need to increase production capacity to increase exports and provide the domestic market (and simultaneously stabilize prices). The increase in production means new jobs and support for exports, which is growing today, "said Vladimir Groisman. - And in the context of prices it is necessary that the Antimonopoly Committee. It should play the role of an organ that does not allow the creation of artificial monopolies, which can lead, among other things, to a rise in prices ".

At the same time, Vladimir Groisman stressed that there is no artificial regulation of prices. "The task is to create the level of production that will lead to lower prices. In a few years, this will be possible. Now it is necessary to increase investment in livestock - this will give the result. And further - plant growing, vegetable crops, "- said the Prime Minister.

Reference According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, now is harvesting, completed harvesting of early cereals. Despite difficult weather conditions, the grain harvest became the second in volume for the period of independence. The yield of such crops as rye and barley was record. The gross harvest of the early grain group in wheat is 25.7 million tons.

Ukraine occupies an important place in the top ten countries of the world that can afford grain exports and provide domestic market, as well as increase exports of flour - a product of grain processing.

Optimistic is the forecast for production of sunflower oil, sugar and buckwheat, which can also constitute an article of Ukrainian exports. The state of the food balance corresponds to the needs, and consequently, there are no grounds for price instability in the food market, argue in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
